Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I unable to log on?
First, make sure that you are entering just your last name in the first empty box.
Next, if you are a participant in the program and this is your first time logging in to the NFQA database then your access code will be the first part of your email address. For example, if your email address is jsmith@usgs.gov then your access code will be jsmith. After logging on the first time you will be asked to change your access code.
If you have logged on before but can not remember your access code or encounter
any problems then please contact Jonathan
Currier.
Why did I receive these samples?
An email is sent out to the District Water Quality (QW) Specialist and/or Office Water Quality Specialist to update the participant list for the program before samples are sent out for analysis. They also make the request at this time for the ranges and bottle sizes that are to be sent to each participant. So, samples are sent out based on what the District and/or Office QW Specialist select for each participant.
What do I do if I can't enter my data via the web site?
If you can not enter your data via the web contact your Office Water
Quality Specialist and ask them to enter it for you. If the deadline is approaching
and your Office QW Specialist is unavailable then you can email your results to
Jonathan Currier, fax the results to 303-236-1880
or contact Jonathon Currier by phone at 303-236-1876.
What if I miss the deadline to enter my sample results?
There are about 5 weeks from the time the samples are sent out till the results are due. If you can not submit your results by the deadline then you will receive no ranking for your samples.
When and how can I get my results?
Approximately 2 weeks after all the data has been collected and entered into the database the results will be available. After successfully logging in to the system you can select the view reports option and then you can click on the "view your results" option. You should then see your results.
What happens when I receive an unsatisfactory rating?
After the results are made available your District and/or Office Water Quality Specialist determine what course of action they want to take. They may order rerun samples for retesting purposes. These rerun results are for your office record keeping. They are not to be resubmitted to the NFQA program. The extra samples can be ordered by contacting Jonathan Currier. There is a charge for these samples.
